Challenge
When a foundation provides a grant (funds) to a nonprofit organization (grantee), they want to see the real-world impact their funds are having on the mission they are donating to. After interviewing several SMEs and clients, we generated a list of goals, needs, and specifications to be incorporated into the dashboard.
Approach
Using this information, I designed a Grantee Dashboard for foundations to track grantee progress based on set objectives using KIIs (Key Impact Indicators). The acceptance criteria were for foundations to be able to add, edit, and invite grantees, create and view progress reports, nudge grantees to report their data, create new reports, see progress on reporting, and themes, and view important information such as KIIs, themes, status, and reporting progress. Rough mocks were sketched out to create the general page architecture for both the Grantees and Reports tabs. Higher fidelity wireframes were then created in Figma and presented to the product and engineering teams for approval. A design system was used along with building custom components.
Results
After refinement, the designs were presented to foundations and were enthusiastically received. With a lot of positive feedback from both internal and external audiences, marketing decided to use the designs in their campaigns to attract new clients, and the design files were sent to the engineering for development.
