Challenge
Redesign a client’s mobile application to improve usability, meet user needs, provide a modern look, improve navigation, and allow for additional features to be easily added.
Approach
I conducted a heuristic review of the existing mobile application, generated a content map of existing features and content, documented user flows, and researched mobile navigation design patterns. After compiling this information and reviewing their branding guidelines, I designed high-fidelity wireframes that were converted into a prototype and presented to the client’s CEO.
Results
After the initial review, the CEO was so pleased she asked me to present to her marketing and engineering group. After a successful presentation, I handed off the wireframes and prototype to help guide her people in redesigning their mobile application.
Insights
When designing mobile applications, careful thought needs to occur around navigation, information architecture, content management, and scalability.
